National Aboriginal Veterans Day: Special Screenings

National Aboriginal Veterans Day, commemorated on November 8, acknowledges the significant contributions of Indigenous peoples, including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis, in the defence of Canada. First Nations people were not forced to join the armed forces because they were exempt through Treaty, but many First Nations people volunteered to protect Canada. This special day is designated to honour the courage, commitment, and sacrifices made by these brave men and women who stepped forward to serve their nation in times of need. Recognized annually, this observance sheds light on the historical and ongoing role played by Indigenous veterans, paying tribute to their resilience, determination, and dedication to Canada.

We honour you today and thank you for your service!

Visit SaskTel Theatre on November 8 for screenings of Honouring Our Heroes: A Tribute to Métis Veterans, and a pre-recorded Fireside with Lyndon conversation with veterans Stephen Ross and Hilliard Paul Kahpeaysewat.

Admission is free and open to all. These screenings will play every two hours, starting at 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM.
