Kapwani Kiwanga: Remediation Panel
Kapwani Kiwanga’s exhibition Remediation explores the relationship between humans and the natural environment, navigating tensions between toxicity and regeneration. She underscores the importance of nature’s role in determining the course of history—not only through evolution, but through nature’s ever-shifting response to human intervention.
On January 27, 2024, Remai Modern gathered a panel of experts to discuss these themes. Aileen Burns & Johan Lundh, Remai Modern’s Co-Executive Director & CEOs joined Katherine Stewart, Associate Professor, University of Saskatchewan Department of Soil Science; and Graham Strickert, Associate Professor, U of S School of Environment and Sustainability, with Kiwanga attending the panel via Zoom.
