Call for silent film & video
Remember those old timey silent films? Before the internet and the advent of talkies, plot, mood and themes were developed with short bits of text and live musical accompaniment. This year, LUGO takes inspiration from the age of silent movies with the moving pictures project.
LUGO is seeking silent film and video works for a projection screening in the café and lounge. Musicians will respond to selected works and provide a live soundtrack during the evening. Interested? Send us a link to your work on YouTube or Vimeo. Film and video works (preferably on the short side) must be available as Quicktime .mov files.
The moving pictures project is a presented in collaboration with Festival Cinergie. A small honorarium will be paid for selected works; the deadline for submissions is January 6. We will accept online submissions only, merci.
LUGO is a cross disciplinary celebration of the arts and a massive art party. Since its launch in 2010, over 1500 participants and artists have come together to make friends and raise funds for Mendel Art Gallery exhibitions and programs. LUGO 2012 is on Saturday, January 14th.
