Big Kidney was from the Siksika Nation. He was born in 1873 and lived a long life to1951. His English name was Herbert Lawrence, but he was also known by the Ceremonialists as Rainy Chief. As a Ceremonialist, he was a member of the Brave Dog Society and the Prairie Chicken Society. Big Kidney was well known for his escapades.
