Visitors to the Mendel Art Gallery may photograph and videotape family and friends outside the Gallery, and in the lobby and Civic Conservatory. Photography and video recording are not allowed in any galleries. Visitors may photograph any of the artwork on display anywhere in the Gallery except when posted otherwise. Restrictions on some exhibitions are put in place to protect artists’ copyright. There is no flash or video photography allowed.
Members of the media who wish to videotape or photograph artwork for editorial or promotional purposes must receive clearance from the Communications Department. For further information, contact Communications Coordinator Sheila Robertson at (306) 975-2242.
Please note that the only exception to the camera policy is for the annual School Art exhibition of student artwork from Saskatoon’s schools. Photography is freely permitted of works in this exhibition ONLY.
