Camera Policy

Camera Policy

Visitors to the Mendel Art Gallery may photograph and videotape family and friends outside the Gallery, and in the lobby and Civic Conservatory. Photography and video recording are not allowed in any galleries. Visitors may not photograph any of the artwork on display anywhere in the Gallery. The restrictions are enforced to protect artists’ copyright, and to prevent flash photography from harming artworks.

Members of the media who wish to videotape or photograph artwork for editorial or promotional purposes must receive clearance from the Communications Department. For further information, contact Communications Coordinator Sheila Robertson at (306) 975-2242.

Please note that the only exception to the camera policy is for the annual School Art exhibition of student artwork from Saskatoon’s schools. Photography is freely permitted of works in this exhibition ONLY.
