William Perehudoff in Memoriam


Noted Saskatoon colour field painter William Perehudoff, who died at age 94 on Tuesday, February 26, was an influential Canadian artist, and a Member of the Order of Canada. He received numerous awards, most recently the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. The Optimism of Colour, a retrospective of Perehudoff’s work, was organized and exhibited by the Mendel Art Gallery in 2010 and toured nationally through 2012. Condolences to his wife, landscape painter Dorothy Knowles, and his family, including daughters Rebecca Minton, Catherine Fowler, and Carol Perehudoff.
